Register as an auditor

To become a certified greenhouse and energy auditor, you must demonstrate knowledge of our rules and criteria, as well as auditing experience.

Apply for registration by submitting an application form and supporting documentation.

As per the Rules and Criteria, we are responsible for registering auditors for greenhouse and energy. To fulfill this responsibility, we maintain a register of auditors.

Eligibility to register

To be eligible for registration, you must demonstrate that you meet the eligibility criteria. To be eligible, you must:

These criteria include being a fit and proper

person, having tertiary qualifications (a degree orequivalent), 

knowing the relevant legislation administered by us, and having 

knowledge of audit, assurance, and team leadership.

With over 1,000 hours of experience in auditing and preparing audit reports, as well

as over 700 hours of experience in leading audit teams,

provide referees who can attest to your competency.

The Instrument provides more details on the qualifications, knowledge, training, and experience required to meet the criteria.The criteria are further explained in Divisions 6.4 to 6.6 of the Specifications.

How to register

The audit team leader must be registered under the rules and criteria. The specifications outline requirements for other members of the audit team.

We no longer accept new Independent Expert Evaluators (IEE) registrations. Existing IEE auditors will remain on the register of auditors.

Application process times

Our application processing time is approximately 8 weeks.

The processing time may be affected by the complexity of the application and the speed at which third parties can verify the information provided.

Please ensure that you complete all sections of the application form and submit all required supporting documentation.

If your application is accepted, we will include your information in the auditor registry.

Once you're registered

As a greenhouse and energy auditor, it is important to continuously meet the necessary requirements to maintain your registration.

Your registration will remain active until you choose to suspend or deregister, or until we suspend or deregister you.
