Greenhouse Gas Reporting Scheme

Last updated 2 May 2024

What is the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Framework?

The Greenhouse Gas Reporting Company provides information about the following:

greenhouse gas emissions

energy production

energy consumption.

All controlling corporations of carbon capture, utilization, and storage/sequestration (CCUS) projects are required to:

report on their emissions, energy production and consumption each year.

This data helps us optimize our CCUS methods and require CCUS projects to use more energy-efficient infrastructure or equipment.

Scheme components

The GHGR Scheme was established in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Standard (the Standard).

The Standard is supported by several rules, related policies, and processes. In accordance with the GHGR Scheme, we collect data from companies pertaining to their emissions, energy production, and consumption. This information will be made public along with your project. The GHGR Scheme framework consists of six major elements:

registering and deregistering corporations for reporting

receiving reports via the Greenhouse Gas Reporting System (GHGRS)

monitoring and enforcing compliance

applying the audit framework

administering the Greenhouse and Energy Register

publishing data.

We adhere to our GHGR data privacy Statement at all times when collecting and sharing information.
