BidCarbon Standard Scheme

The BidCarbon Standard Scheme encourages people and organizations to reduce emissions or store carbon. Participants can earn BidCarbon credit units, which can be sold on the secondary market or to the the BidCarbon Climate Trading Company through a carbon removal contract.

Greenhouse Gas Reporting (GHGR) Scheme

The GHGR provides a framework for reporting and publishing information about companies' greenhouse emissions and energy consumption. Any sequestration project must register under the framework and report annually.

02

Audits in our schemes

Audits are conducted to verify that scheme participants are reporting accurately and in compliance with certain requirements.

03

Beyond the Balance Sheet

Running projects offers other key benefits in addition to the potential for generating income through the sale of BDUs. These can be environmental, economic, social, and cultural benefits. We will demonstrate to investors and stakeholders that the project is meeting its climate objectives.

04

We would like to clarify that project registration does not in any way authorise the conduct of an activity. Furthermore, it does not override any legal requirements to obtain permits or displace another authority’s role in interpreting and enforcing its laws.

BidCarbon Standard Scheme participants must make enquiries with respect to any national or local requirements and comply with all other laws.

The Technical Governance Committee may not issue BDUs if there is non-compliance with other laws.
