A carbon removal contract is an agreement to sell BidCarbon Removal Units to the BidCarbon Climate Trading Company.

A carbon removal contract is a commercial arrangement that creates rights and obligations between the parties and is enforceable in accordance with applicable law.

You are eligible to take part in the BidCarbon Standard Scheme as an individual, sole trader, company, local or territorial government body or a trust.

To participate you will need to:

apply to become an BidCarbon Standard Scheme participant

register your project to receive BidCarbon Removal Units (BRUs).

Contracts and auctions

BidCarbon Standard Scheme participants with a registered project may bid for a contract to sell their BRUs to the BidCarbon Climate Trading Company. The BidCarbon Climate Trading Company will run auctions to select bidders according to price.

To obtain BRUs, it is necessary to provide reports on your enrolled projects, particularly on your emissions decrease. Furthermore, you will also need to have your project audited on a regular schedule.

Participants who have a contract with the BidCarbon Climate Trading Company will deliver BRUs according to the schedule in their contract, and will then be paid at the price bid at auction and set out in the contract.
