Under the BidCarbon Standard Scheme, registerd agents play a vital role in enabling businesses to benefit financially from carbon data rights certificates (CDRCs).

Financial institutions, wholesalers or retailers of environmental products can apply to the Operating Companies to become a registered agent.

Once registered with the Operating Companies, agents can have the right to create carbon data rights certificates assigned to them for units that meet the eligibility BidCarbon removal unit. The right to create certificates is often assigned in exchange for an upfront financial benefit such as a discount off the final invoice or cash payment.

You can use a registered agent BUC Registry account to:

create carbon data rights certificates for others

transfer CDRCs for registration in the BUC Registry.

You must pay a one-off £230.00 application fee for this account.

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must:

have or apply to have a registered person account

complete CDRC Smart prior to completing your application to become a registered agent

fit the criteria of being a 'legal person'

complete the proof of identity verification process

understand the eligibility requirements for creating CDRCs

follow the BidCarbon (Carbon Farming) Standard

follow the BidCarbon Unit and Certificate Registry Standard 

have an Company Registration Number (CRN)

provide your TIN registration status, if applicable

Pay fee.
