Offsets projects are responsible for assessing their own obligations under the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Standard 2025 (the GHGR Standard). The three steps below will help you understand your obligations under the GHGR scheme.

To assess your obligations under the GHGR scheme you must:

understand your projects.

identify your controlling corporation and your controlling corporation's group members, and

determine the facilities under the operational control of your controlling corporation and its group members.

Registration

If you have assessed that your organisation is a controlling corporation or responsible emitter that has an obligation to apply for registration, you will need to complete the relevant form via the Online Services.

All registered controlling corporations are required to submit an GHGR report each year until the projects is deregistered. For more information on how and what to report go to how to report.

Record keeping, audit, monitoring and compliance
