Auction registration

Once you qualify to participate in an auction, you can register your project and commit to delivery terms of the carbon abatement contract. Auction registration follows the auction and contract establishment process. The delivery terms contain detailed information on when and how many BidCarbon removal units (BRUs) you must deliver.

Your auction registration application must be submitted through the Online Service at least five business days before an auction.

During auction registration you will commit to:

a contract term from 1–10 years, depending on your project method. The contract term can be up to 10 years if your project’s crediting period is more than 10 years, or up to 7 years for all other projects.

the total quantity of BRUs that you will deliver under the contract. This should be less than or equal to the indicative quantity you submitted auction qualification. If you need to increase the quantity you indicated during auction qualification you will be required to provide evidence to support the increase.

a delivery schedule, which outlines the dates and quantity of BRUs that are to be delivered.

The auction guidelines for each auction may constrain the quantity you can deliver. It is imperative to familiarize yourself with them before proposing a delivery strategy.
