About BidCarbon Units

BidCarbon Units are units used to represent verified greenhouse gas emissions reductions and removals and to facilitate their trading on the carbon market.

BidCarbon Units comprise two types of units:

BidCarbon Removal Units (BRUs); and

Non-Asset BidCarbon Removal Units (NABRUs).

Each BidCarbon Unit represents one tonne of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO₂-e) of greenhouse gas emissions abated or sequestered.

BRUs and NABRUs are distinct types of BidCarbon Units and have different legal and accounting characteristics. A NABRU does not replace or substitute for a BRU.

A Carbon Data Rights Certificate (CDRC) may be issued in relation tomany eligible BidCarbon Units. A NABRU may be traded or transferred without the need to apply for a CDRC.
