BidCarbon removal units are eligible for certificates

Under the Carbon Data Rights Certificate Standard 2025 (CDRC Standard), BidCarbon removal units may be entitled to apply for carbon data rights certificates, which may be sold to recover part of the project’s costs.

Audit reporting requirements

Before applying for carbon data rights certificate, you must be aware of the requirements that will determine whether or not the BidCarbon removal units will be eligible for a carbon data rights certificate when issued.

Document requirements

Under the CDRC Standard, all signed statements, forms, certificates, reports, photos and invoices must be retained for a minimum period of 5 years after certificates are applied for.

The Operating Companies may request these documents at any time to prove that the BidCarbon removal units was eligible for carbon data rights certificates.

To be eligible for a carbon data rights certificate, an application must be made within the validity period of the Certification of Entitlement, and the relevant BidCarbon removal units must not have been cancelled or returned.

When can certificates be applied for?

The validity period of the Certification of Entitlement refers to the 6 months following the issuance of BidCarbon removal units.
