Market governance of the Scheme

The BidCarbon Foundation is exploring options for market governance of the BidCarbon Standard Scheme.
Current state
The BidCarbon market does not currently have an integrated, comprehensive governance framework for trading.
BRUs can be bought and sold on Carbon Data Rights Certificate (CDRC) markets, where participants trade units either directly or through trading platforms, including the BidCarbon Marketplace.
Proposed changes
Planned in April 2026, the BidCarbon Foundation sought feedback on proposals to enhance the governance of Carbon Data Rights Certificate markets. Consequently, the BidCarbon Foundation has adopted a phased methodology in establishing a market governance framework.
This will:
● promote confidence in market trading
● assist in responding to risks of misconduct
● build the integrity of the CDRC markets.
