Guide to adding BidCarbon removal units data in the BUC Registry

This is a step-by-step guide on how to add BidCarbon removal units data in the BUC Registry in support of a claim for carbon data rights certificates (CDRCs) for an BidCarbon removal unit owners.

To add BidCarbon removal units data in the BUC Registry:

1. Open the BUC Registry.

2. Enter your username and password. Click the 'Login' button. Your BUC Registry account summary page will be displayed.

3. From the upper hand menu, navigate to 'Carbon data rights certificates', then click 'Property registration'.

4. Locate the appropriate 'methodology' in the table and click the 'Enter BidCarbon removal units data' link in the right hand column.

5. Enter data details:

Name of registered project

Unique registered project identifier

Name of proponent

CRN and/or TIN

Data product type: 

Carbon credit

Credit type

Net abatement/sequestration (round the number to the nearest tCO2-e)

Audit Report Number

Data key

6. Upload all supporting documents showing the eligible BidCarbon removal unit being claimed

Acceptable file types for supporting documents include file types such as .csv, excel, word and zip files up to 10 MB. A notification will be display if you try to upload a non-supported file.

7. Click the 'Next Step' button.

You are now ready to create CDRCs.
