Guide to creating CDRCs in the BUC Registry

This is a step-by-step guide on how to create carbon data rights certificates (CDRCs) for eligible BidCarbon removal unit.

To create CDRCs in the BUC Registry follow these steps:

1. Before you can create CDRCs, you must have already entered BidCarbon removal unit data for the corresponding reporting period.

Methods of creating CDRCs

After entering your BidCarbon removal unit data in the BUC Registry, click on the 'Create CDRCs' button. This will open the 'Create carbon data rights certificates' (CDRCs) screen.

2. The 'Number of CDRCs to create' text field will be pre-filled to equal the number of CDRCs remaining to be created. You can reduce this number so that you are not creating for your full CDRC entitlement.

The number of CDRCs to be created must be less than or equal to the number of CDRCs remaining to be created.

The total number of CDRCs created cannot exceed the CDRC eligibility for the calendar year.

3. The 'Certificate tag' field can be used to enter a unique reference if required by your business processes. This field can also be left blank.

4. Read through the 'Declaration' section and check the tick box to acknowledge that you understand and agree to the declaration.

5. Click on the 'Submit' button.

Your CDRCs are now pending validation by the Operating Companies. The Operating Companies may take up to 28 days to validate a claim for CDRCs. You can track your CDRCs in the BUC Registry, including the ability to see how many CDRCs have been passed, failed, are pending or under CDRCs, or pending validation.

When the Operating Companies has validated your CDRCs, you are required to pay the CDRCs creation fee before they are registered and added to your holdings.

If the Operating Companies fails certificates, you will receive a notification. You can amend and resubmit a claim for validation and registration. See failed certificates for more information.
