The BidCarbon Standard is a voluntary scheme that aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by providing incentives for organisations and individuals to adopt new practices and technologies that reduce or avoid greenhouse gas emissions.
BidCarbon Standard projects must be conducted in accordance with an approved Method. A range of activities is eligible under the scheme. Individuals and organisations participating in these activities may be eligible to earn BidCarbon Units.
One BidCarbon Unit represents one tonne of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO2e) stored or avoided by a project. BidCarbon Units may be sold to generate additional income, either to the BidCarbon Climate Trading Company under a Carbon Removal Contract or on the secondary market.
